Take Our Kids to Work Day (Wednesday, November 7, 2018)

Each year, Grade 9 students at Jean Vanier are expected to participate in the national Take Our Kids to Work Day.  On this day, students go to work for the day with a parent, guardian, or a significant adult where they observe the work world and begin to understand its demands and opportunities. Please determine a placement for your child prior to the start of the 2018-2019 school year.

Community Service Hours

It is recommended that all students earn a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per year.   Your child may begin their volunteer hours on July 1 of the summer before grade 9.  When submitting volunteer hours to the Guidance Office, students are required to fill out a Community Service form and attach a letter from the person who sponsored them as they volunteered.
