Take Our Kids to Work Day – Nov. 5, 2014

On Wednesday, November 5, 2014, hundreds of thousands of Grade nine students will spend the day at workplaces across Canada. Students will experience a wide variety of job and career options including what it takes to be a paramedic, work on a makeshift assembly line, develop a mock sales presentation or work in the IT department for a large corporation. Grade 9 students must submit their permission form to Student Services in order to participate.

We Scare Hunger Food Drive

During the week of October 27 – 31, Jean Vanier will be conducting our annual “We Scare Hunger” food drive to support local food banks in our community.  Please consider sending in any non-perishable food items with your son or daughter.  Some of the most needed items are: Baby formula & food Beans & Lentils Canned fruits & vegetables Canned fish & meat Cans of soup or hearty stew Dried pasta & tomato sauce macaroni & cheese Peanut butter Rice Canned, powdered or Tetra Pak cartons of milk Thank you for considering this request. Ice Bucket Challenge

The Healthcare class nominates Mr. Daly and Mr. Cordeiro to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. On Thursday Sept. 18 students need to donate a loonie or a toonie to support ALS. All money will be donated to the cause. If the students raise $500, the administration will do the ice bucket challenge. If they raise $1000, they will do the ice bucket challenge and the Vanier students will receive a civvies day. Click to see video
